Anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) are standard while Vehicle Stability Control and traction control are optional on XLE FWD as well as LE and XLE 4WD models. Dual front airbags are standard too, with front side-impact and curtain shield airbags on all three rows optional on the top-of-the-line XLE. But safety issues are nothing new for the Sienna. The current model was awarded the safest minivan tested by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Toyota's Newport Beach, California design facility handled the Sienna's styling, which only makes sense. After all, North American will be the bread and butter market for this enriched bread and creamy butter vehicle. What about price? The Sienna CE in 7-passenger configuration gets more than $1,500 in new features compared to the outgoing model, yet its price decreases by $665, to $30,000 - not bad. The LE, with added equipment valued at nearly $2,600 gets a $1,365 increase to $34,750. The 4WD LE starts at $39,160, and a completely loaded 4WD XLE Ltd has an MSRP of $51,845. The new model will go on sale at your local Toyota dealer by about mid-March.
