Worthy successor to the DB7, the new DB9 also enters the market as the lowest priced Aston Martin available. Its seductive lines remind us immediately of its sibling: the Vanquish. Historically, all Aston Martins have been built by hand; the DB9 is no different. The person responsible for building and assembling it proudly signs it. Under the bonnet, we find the Vanquish's 6.0L V12 engine although developing 10 less horsepower. With 450 hp, the DB9 is quicker than the DB7. It will travel from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 305 km/h. As expected, there are two 6-speed transmissions to choose from: A 6-speed manual or a 6-speed sequential with steering wheel mounted paddles. The DB9 is an exceptional car that can only be compared to other supercars such as Ferraris, Maseratis and Bentleys.

Auto123.com's impressions:

Now that AM is part of Ford's Prestige Auto Group, the British automaker can offer two high-performance models. Just about as beautiful as they can possibly get, the DB9 remains very exclusive thanks to very low sales and a hefty price tag.
