Unique to the Dodge wagon is a one-piece tailgate that is hinged approximately 50 centimeters (20 inches) into the roofline, allowing it to swing high enough to shelter from the elements beneath, while not causing the need to move backward out of the way when lifting. It also makes it possible to get open when parked bumper to bumper with another car, something conventional liftgates can't accommodate.
