Looking nderneath the hood of the concept SUV reveals an all-new aluminum block 3.6-litre DOHC V6 motor that provides best-in-class power. Though Suzuki claims that it is newly developed, it's believed that the engine has been borrowed from GM's European modular V6 engine series.

Like all Suzuki SUVs past and present, the Concept X puts off-roading capabilities amongst its priorities. Though a separate shifter gate to control the transfer case won't be featured in the Concept X, it has a new 4WD system which Suzuki (ironically) calls '4GO'. In normal conditions, the system delivers the sure-footed grip of permanent all-wheel drive. However, should the going get tough, a low-range 'on demand' function is available.
