For sprints up to the ski hill or weekend tears through the countryside antique hunting, however, you will find few cars
anywhere near as sporty, stylish and accommodating (that is unless you opt for an A4 Avant 3.2 or even better, an S4 Avant), although the Dodge Magnum R/T or 425-horsepower Magnum SRT8 could easily give it a run for its money. But the Magnum is so big that it's in an entirely different league, isn't it? Of course if you're a Beamer or Merc loyalist you may never consider making the switch to Audi's four rings, especially now that both automakers offer all-wheel drive on their respective 325Xi Touring and E350 4MATIC Wagon (Merc doesn't offer a compact C-Class wagon).
You can also get all the all-wheel drive you ever wanted in an SUV, as well as more storage capacity for that matter, but this will never deliver the rarefied Audi grace, a certain untouched class that permeates every aspect of the Avant's design. For my money, this is worth every penny.
