So is this the best 4x4-capable SUV in the entry-level midsize class? While I wouldn't go that far in exclaiming its qualities, I am willing to say that it's among the best - something I couldn't say about its predecessor. Truly, the 2006 Explorer has advanced so far from the 2005 model that only the name and a few styling similarities remain the same, plus the vehicle's amazing ability to sell highest in its category year after year. My guess is this trend will continue, with Ford possibly gaining some market share if word about the Explorer's many improvements gets out to the street effectively.
