The Pontiac is the Chevrolet Equinox's twin. They share the same platform and powertrain. Launched in the spring of 2004, the Equinox replaces the outdated Tracker in GM's compact SUV segment. The engine is the 185 hp 3.4L V6 mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission. Available in either FWD or AWD trim, the Torrent distinguishes itself from the Equinox with a bolder more aggressive front end that is very Pontiac. Standard features should include air conditioning, power windows and door locks (with remote keyless entry), fog lamps and 16" alloy wheels.

Auto123.com's impressions:
Pontiac, the only division of GM not to have an SUV (forget about the Aztek) must have complained long and hard to finally get a compact sporty SUV of their own. What they got is a re-badged Chevy Equinox. Happy-happy joy-joy.
