Conclusion
The 2007 A6 Avant is very comfortable and fun to drive. It also boasts an extraordinarily beautiful interior. That said, I'm having trouble finding the logic in a $80K+ wagon.
You see, for that kind of money and the same need for cargo room, you would be better served by an SUV. I know I would. Plus, if you can afford such a vehicle, you probably have a boat you need to tow.
Audi now offers the Q7 with a price range that's a bit more flexible than the A6 Avant's, not to mention more engine choices. Of course, for truck haters out there, this wagon can do the trick.
Comfortable
Nimble despite its size
Easy access and loading
Pricey (with options)
Fuel-thirsty
Complex navigation system
None
