As a new player in the crossover segment, the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz will do what Hyundai does best: Offer a whole lot for the money. Powering the new vehicle will be the 3.8L V6 from the Entourage and a new 6-speed automatic transmission and AWD. Output is rated at 260 hp and 257 lb/ft of torque. The Veracruz has more interior space than a Mercedes GL-Class and provides 7-passenger seating, and the 3rd-row can fold flat into the floor.

The 2007 Hyundai Accent SR is the sporting version of the new Accent hatchback. Aesthetically, the SR adds 17" alloy wheels, clear-lensed rear taillights, a skirt kit and a rear roof spoiler. The interior trim is also upgraded with a number of model specific features.

Jeep:
The 2007 Jeep Patriot will please those that want more ruggedness without the compromises associated with an SUV. It will use the 2.4L Chrysler World engine like the Compass and Caliber rated at 172 hp. The Patriot's styling is classic Jeep fare and it will be Trail Rated thanks to its available Freedom Drive II AWD system.

Kia:
The Kia Rondo is the second player in a new compact minivan-style segment however it might prove to be the one to beat. For the price, $19,995 to be exact, you get 6 air bags, stability and traction control, a potent 162 hp 2.4L 4-cylinder engine and power accessories. Included on the options list is a 182 hp 2.7L V6, 17" wheels and a 3rd row of seats.

Land Rover:
The 2008 LR2 is the least expensive Land Rover you can buy. Pricing starts at $44,900. This money entitles you to a 230 hp 3.2L V6, a 6-speed automatic transmission and a sophisticated 4WD system. The LR2 is by far the most capable compact SUV available on the market today.

Lexus:
The new Lexus LS460 flagship is set to conquer the segment with three versions: a regular and a long wheelbase for 2007 topped by a hybrid for 2008 in the form of an LS600hL. Under the striking new hood is a 380 hp 4.6L V8 mated to a world-premier 8-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid features a 430 hp 5.0L V8 combined with Lexus' Hybrid Synergy Drive. The reason for the 600 name refers to the fact that the output is more akin to a 6.0L V12 engine.
