Mazda:Another crossover that will be hitting the streets shortly is the all-new 2007 CX-9. Using the Ford-sourced 3.5L V6, the CX-9 should be an interesting performer with its 263 hp and available 20" wheels. Once again, Mazda spices up a segment with its patented Zoom-Zoom. The CX-9 can accommodate 7 passengers all the way to the country house thanks to its advanced Mazda Active Torque Split All-Wheel Drive system. Pricing starts at $39,595 for a FWD GS.
Mini:Just before the arrival of the redesigned 2008 Mini Convertible, Mini presents a Sidewalk trim which incorporates dynamic stability control, a Harman/Kardon sound system and a number of other interesting features. The Sidewalk Package will add an extra $3,900 to the Cooper S Convertible's $36,600 base price.
Mitsubishi:The 2008 Lancer has a big job to do and thankfully, Mitsubishi has given it many elements to ensure success. First of all, the all-new car looks sporty and finally gets a much needed boost in power. The revised 2.0L engine develops 152 hp and can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission.
Nissan:The Altima is Nissan's best selling product. The keep the line fresh and exciting, a Coupe and a Hybrid version will soon be offered. The Hybrid powertain combine the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with an electric motor. This clean power is sent to the front wheels via an electronically controlled CVT transmission. This upcoming summer, the 2008 Coupe will feature the same engines, namely the 2.5L I-4 and potent 3.5L V6, with the sedan. The Altima Coupe will compete directly with the Accord Coupe and the Toyota Solara.
With the new Sentra now on the road, compact performance enthusiasts were waiting for this one, the arrival of the 2007 SE-R Spec V. The familiar 2.5L engine will now put out 200 hp and 180 lb/ft of torque. These numbers should help the SE-R Spec V pull off some interesting acceleration numbers. Also on hand is the new Versa Sedan. It shares all of its components save for rear sheetmetal with the Versa hatchback introduced early on last year.
