Sedan-like comfort
Five people can comfortably sit inside, much like in the Accord sedan. Obviously, the step to the cabin is a bit higher. After all, being a light-duty off-road vehicle, the Ridgeline boasts a generous ground clearance.

Up front, the bucket seats are pleasantly large, yet they offer decent side support for cornering maneuvers. In between is a massive multi-section storage module that can be reconfigured to suit the owner's needs. Passengers can empty their pockets without compromising their vital space.

You don't have to be a seasoned truck driver to drive the Ridgeline.

Similar to the bodywork, the dashboard is massive-looking. The controls as well as the column-mounted shifter of the 5-speed automatic transmission are big and offer a solid feel. They're easy to manipulate even when you're wearing gloves.

Meanwhile, the rear bench will sit three adults thanks to the flat floor and a generous amount of legroom and footroom. If need be, the 60/40 split-lifting cushions offer convenient underseat storage.

Better than a Chevy Avalanche
While it may look like it, the Ridgeline does not feature a removable partition between the cabin and the box like the Chevy Avalanche. Therefore, you cannot sacrifice the rear bench to extend the cargo box area. The Avalanche might seem like a more logical choice if you need to load longer items.

The industry-exclusive In-Bed Trunk proves to be extremely convenient.
But wait a minute: not to be outdone, Honda engineers developed a unique formula for carrying passengers AND cargo. They've created the lockable In-Bed Trunk, offering 241 liters of secure storage for your luggage or grocery bags. This industry-exclusive feature clearly favors family needs over pure utility.

The front section of this trunk (near the cabin) houses the spare tire. A rolling tray allows you to get it out easily whenever you have a flat tire... unless the trunk is full of gear!

Unique taligate
Access to the cargo box and integrated trunk is made easier by a clever dual-action tailgate, which can be opened either vertically or horizontally, depending on what's more convenient. Another innovation from Honda.

Once folded, the tailgate offers an additional 30 centimeters of cargo floor for a total of 6 feet. That's enough to load 8-foot long beams, plywood sheets or even a pair of dirt bikes. The payload capacity of the tailgate is rated at 137 kilos (300 pounds).
