Background
Born in Chicago, Vaughn A. Wyant's family moved to Saskatoon when he was two years old. After college and university, he travelled to the United Kingdom and began his automotive career as a salesman in a Ford dealership in London. He continued his career upon his return to Canada in 1973, acquiring his first dealership in 1980 in Carstairs, Alberta, where he manned the pumps, wrote up work orders, sold vehicles and did some accounting--in short, he learned how to manage a company as he went along. He returned to Saskatoon in 1983 and bought Jubilee Ford Sales' assets, and that's when it all started. In addition to these dealerships, Wyant has other business interests and has a long list of community and business awards and achievements under his belt.
His view
The most important recognition is that of your peers. There are some outstanding dealers in this country, and the simple fact that I am one of the finalists is a tremendous honour. Personal recognition was never one of my objectives. On the contrary, every award and distinction is the result of a group effort where the members strive towards the same goal with confidence and mutual respect.
