I tell you, those designers at Lexus have thought of everything. The Lexus LS 600h L Exec even has a small table, which appears out of nowhere at the touch of a button, to rest your supper on. Possibly it's true function is for holding the computer of some high powered executive whilst traveling to and from work, but as that four letter word means very little to me, I put my sandwiches on it.
By this time I was almost at the hotel where I had to stop and drop off some paperwork. Pulling in, I couldn't resist one more little game with Simon. "You know James, these Lexus vehicles have such a good reputation for reliability, yet for some unknown reason my door handles appears to be malfunctioning, would you mind opening it from the outside for me?"
Why thank you, now I won't be a minute, you have a chat with that nice doorman fellow.
Upon my return, I noticed that Simon was perspiring a little from standing out in the midday sun (yes, he's an Englishman too, and you know what they say... "Only mad dogs and Englishmen").
Anyway, it was then that I decided to play my trump card..."What you need mate is a sun hat, here, try this one"!!
That finally did it for me. I had pushed him just a little too far! So, what could I do? I let him clamber into the back seat and I played chauffeur on the way home. I even wore the chauffeur's hat for a short time. After all, he's a good friend, and also, he can afford a good tip.
Seriously though, The Lexus LS 600h L is truly an amazing automobile. In fact, I'd say that sitting in the rear seat of this vehicle is an experience that everyone should enjoy at least once in their lives.
I've ridden in the back of some nice vehicles in my time, but honestly, this one tops them all by far. I see the LS 600h L Exec appealing in huge numbers to high-level executives and particularly embassies, who typically have drivers at their beck and call.
The Lexus LS 600h L not only transports them in splendid style and comfort, but it also makes a statement. It says, we're keeping up to date with the emerging hybrid technology, and trying to do our bit for the planet, but our passengers are important to us and as such, we treat them as VIP's.
Of course, Lexus does produce a version of this vehicle without the fancy rear compartment, and it sells for considerably less. Probably a wise choice if you're considering one as a family vehicle. After all, put the kids in the back of this one and you'd never get them out again!
My road test week came to an end and as I handed the keys back to Lexus, I couldn't help thinking to myself, one day when I'm rich and famous I'm going to buy myself one of these. Therefore I'm taking applications for the position of Chauffeur should anyone be interested.
