As expected, the redesigned Scion xB and the xD are at this year's Chicago auto show. Production of the xA and last generation xB ended in December.
The xD will replace the overlooked xA as it has the same 5-door hatchback body style. It also shares its platform with the Toyota Yaris. The new vehicle features a new 1.8L 4-cylinder shared with the next generation Corolla. This engine produces 128 hp and can be mated to a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The xD will make its way into showrooms next August.
The revised xB is 3 inches larger and 1 foot longer than its predecessor. Its lines are softer and inspired by the Scion t2B Concept. The renewed xB is built on a completely new chassis and shares the tC's 2.4L 4-cylinder engine. Availability of the boxy ride is scheduled for April.
