Acura ZDX offers unique styling and very upscale interior. Just watch your head getting into the back.
In case the styling doesn’t tell you the story after a mere glance, let it be known that the Acura ZDX is far from your typical five-door, five-seat family crossover.

The brand’s California-styled ‘crossover coupe’ blends the hulking stature and tall stance of a utility vehicle with the detailed lines and sleek silhouette of a sports car-- resulting in an interesting look that’s bound to be instantly appreciated or dismissed by anyone checking it out. In your correspondents time with the test vehicle, most friends and family praised the ZDX for its uniqueness and elegance-- though a few curled up one side of their lip and even called it an ‘ugly truckling’.

It’s all a matter of the taste. After all, the ZDX is designed as an expressive, personal vehicle-- not an SUV for your average ma, pa, and 2.2 kids.

Beautiful trimming
Likely to be used more as a social tool by affluent couples and young professionals than as family hauler, the ZDX’s cabin goes a bit wild in terms of styling and trim. Zeroing in on the less-exciting cabin of its BMW-built rival, the X6, ZDX gets plenty of contrasting materials, colours and textures throughout.

Black leather covers not only the seats and steering wheel, but also parts of the dashboard and centre console. Metallic accents and lightly-coloured plastics break the dark cabin up further, and a navigation screen and central command controller take centre stage. Controls around the latter only reveal their imprinted text once the ZDX is turned on, and the entire interior is surrounded with storage compartments and cubbies to keep owners and their occupants organized on the go.

End of the day, the ZDX’s cabin is styled and trimmed wonderfully, offers heaps of at-hand storage, and is packed with fresh, clever details that make the drivers environment one of its strongest assets.
