No. The 2010 Allure (LaCrosse in the US) was not at the Los Angeles Auto Show. But we have it here. And these profile shots, the first ones taken, show more details of the new body shape.
The long awaited debut of this intermediate sedan, originally set for this week in LA, has been delayed till the Detroit Auto Show next January.
Codenamed GMX353, the second generation Allure will be riding on the new (global) front-wheel-drive Epsilon II platform. It will be the first car in Canada and the United States to use this architecture.
The frontal details the new grille. Moreover a close peek at the prototypes allowed us to see there was no ignition keyhole, the new Allure opting instead for a push button starter. We also noticed buttons for heated and ventilated seats!
Production is expected to start at the GM Fairfax plant, in Kansas City, in February of 2009. The car will reach dealerships shortly afterwards as a 2010 model. Annual production numbers in the 65-75K range are expected.
