For the first time ever, the big Rams will be available in a full-on Crew Cab model (replacing the previous Quad Cab model, which was really an extended cab model with conventional doors). Crew Cabs represent 80 percent of overall HD pickup sales, so it was high time Chrysler joined that party.

Chrysler's diesel is the bulletproof and torque-laden 6.7-litre inline-6 built by Cummins.

There are now 42 different storage places inside Crew Cab (compared to 26 previously), including new second-row in-floor bins.

HD Ram also continues to be available in Regular Cab and Mega Cab. Those Mega Cab models have new rear seats that fold over easier and faster, for better access to the storage area behind the seats.

New creature comforts include heated steering wheel, optional front seats with heat and ventilation, heated rear seats, adjustable pedals, and numerous infotainment options, including a 30 gigabyte hard drive, and 10 speaker surround-sound system.

Powertrain Consistency
Engines and transmissions are essentially carryover. According to Chrysler, this is a good thing, no doubt referring to the new but unproven diesel powerplant on its way in the new Ford SuperDuty.

Chrysler's diesel is the bulletproof and torque-laden 6.7-litre inline-6 built by Cummins. Chief engineer, Mike Carins, referred to it as “THE heavy duty diesel in the market.” It produces 650 lb-ft of torque, and unlike its diesel competitors, doesn’t require a UREA system to meet emission standards. It is also the only HD diesel than can mated to 6-speed manual transmission.

The 5.7-litre HEMI V8 gas engine continues to be the standard-equipment engine.

Those Mega Cab models have new rear seats that fold over easier and faster.
