Meanwhile, Hyundai will offer a preview of its new 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 400+ horsepower. The 4.6-litre unit currently found in the Genesis is rated at 385 horsepower.

Speaking of large displacement, Dodge is scheduled to launch a high-performance version of one of its models, probably the Charger SRT8.

Not to be denied, Ram is reportedly planning the debut of a diesel-powered, 5.0-litre Cummins V8 engine for the 1500 pickup truck.

Chevrolet is also rumoured to unveil a new vehicle in Chicago, although no official information has been provided yet. At the NAIAS, some speculated about a Volt Wagon to counter Toyota and its new Prius v. A revamped Silverado is expected as well.

Finally, Volkswagen will host the world premiere of the 2012 Jetta GLI.
