The highly-anticipated Fortune 500 list, which ranks America's 500 largest corporations based on gross revenue, has just been updated for 2011 and General Motors is now the most successful automaker of the Big Three.
At $135.5 billion, the maker of the Chevrolet Volt jumped to 8th place from 15th in 2010. Meanwhile, Ford dropped two spots to 10th with $128.9 billion in revenue.
Chrysler, which recently posted its first quarterly net income since 2009, is still the weakest member of the American trio, finishing 59th at $41.9 billion. Note that it was absent from the list last year, though.
Now, when it comes to profits, the rankings tell a different story:
