Add an H to the M and you get Luxury with Great Fuel Economy
Highway fuel consumption is rated at 6.1 L/100 km on highway and 7.5 in the city.

“Taking its inspiration from the design and hybrid technology found in the breakthrough Infiniti Essence, the new M Hybrid is the only car you can buy today with more than 350 horsepower and combined consumption of 6.9 L/100 km,” said Wendy Durward, Director of Infiniti Canada.

To compare, the regular M37 is rated at 7.6 L/100 km on the highway, 11.4 in the city and has 330 horspower. The M56 Sport with 420 horsepower nets 8 L/100 km on the highway and 12.9 in the city.

The M is one of my favourite cars, and the addition of a hybrid is a wonderful option. Infiniti has succeeded; this is a driver’s hybrid that I don’t feel I have to give anything up to get both performance and sportiness and incredible fuel economy.

For the additional $6,000, I don’t think the hybrid will be a big seller, but people who want to go green will feel confident having the added ‘h’ on their M.
