In comparison, only the Kia Rondo currently is a true rival to the Mazda5; a similarly-equipped EX model with a 3rd-row seat costs $25,445. Ah, but Ford just announced that its 7-passenger C-Max will arrive in North America which, strangely enough, is good news according to the people at Mazda Canada. The point they make is that the more models there are to rival the Mazda5, the more people will realize how great this type of vehicle is. It makes sense.
Should current Mazda5 owners drop everything and rush down to their dealer for a 2012 model? Not quite, but if they’re satisfied with their first-generation 5 and it’s time to trade up, the new 5 has just the right amount the improvements that will keep them happy.
