The Toronto Auto Show opens its doors to the public from February 17th to the 26th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. If you’re currently shopping for a new car or truck, an auto show is an excellent place to start your research. This year at the CIAS, there are many, many new models to look at and sit down in, and comparing a bunch of vehicles back to back is a piece of cake.

The compact crossover segment is growing by the minute. In addition to the redesigned 2013 Ford Escape, the 2013 Mazda CX-5, the 2013 Acura RDX and the 2013 Buick Encore are on display for your viewing pleasure. There also some bigger, more powerful trucks, such as the brutal 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG and the seven-passenger 2013 Infiniti JX.

Small luxury sedans will face some new competition with the arrival of the 2013 Cadillac ATS and the production version of the 2013 Acura ILX, replacing the CSX. Both will offer three powertrain choices.

Sports car fans, rejoice! The 2013 Subaru BRZ and 2013 Scion FR-S are breakthrough models for their respective manufacturers, while the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, the 2013 Nissan GT-R and the new 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class are sure to get show visitors’ adrenaline pumping.

The environmentally-friendly crowd can gather around the 2012 Ford Focus Electric. The 2012 Toyota Prius c will be the lowest priced hybrid in Canada, standing proudly at the Japanese manufacturer’s booth.

The 2013 Dodge Dart, scheduled to go on sale this summer, will offer three engines and three transmissions as well as a choice of 150 Mopar accessories to personalize your car. The 2013 Ford Fusion looks like an Aston Martin, while the built-in-Oshawa 2013 Cadillac XTS will seek to replace the DTS and STS.

In addition, a slew of concept vehicles grace the stands of many manufacturers, including the Chevrolet Stingray Concept, the Jaguar C-X16, the BMW Vision ConnectedDrive, the Kia GT, the Infiniti ETHEREA Concept, the Lincoln MKZ Concept, the Volkswagen Bulli Concept, the Nissan e-NV200 Concept and the Honda Accord Coupe Concept.

The Green Zone rounds up vehicles that feature environmentally-friendly technologies, while the Auto Exotica section is sure to induce drools with supercars such as: Bugatti Veryron, McLaren MP4-12C, Fisker Karma, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari 458 Spider, Lamborghini Aventador, Bentleys, Aston Martins, Porsches and tons of other megabuck machinery.
