Its intuitive controls, a second-row seat wide enough to accommodate three passengers and its quiet, smooth ride are some of the many attributes of the 2013 Volvo XC90, which has undergone a number of very successful design updates.

Weak lateral seat support, tight third-row seating, harsh suspension, and limited cargo room are some of the annoying caveats of this sport-utility that has only one engine option which unfortunately lacks power.

This all-wheel drive seven-passenger vehicle starts at $50,400. Heated seats, leather-covered steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity are all standard equipment for this base model. The Premier Plus, which sells for $ 55,300, is equipped with standard power sunroof, 18-inch wheels, and leather seats.
The Platinum version, at $58,600 includes a Premium Sound audio system, rear back-up camera, parking assist and a navigation package. The R-Design model starts at $57,450. A Premium Plus version at $58,050, and Platinum version at $61,350 are also available.
Fuel Economy
In city driving, the 2013 Volvo XC90 consumes 13.2 L/100 km. The highway rating is 8.8 L/100 km.

A number of design updates were performed while engineers worked on a completely re-designed new model. Updated design tweaks include new front headlights and rear lighting, bumper inserts, roof rails, alloy wheels, steering wheel and instrument cluster.
Drivetrain
The 4.4 liter V8 developed by Yamaha was dropped in 2011. A new 3.2 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 240 hp and 236 lb-ft torque now propels the 2013 Volvo XC90.
The four-wheel drive system is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
Cargo Capacity
Storage space of 615 litres is available in the luggage compartment of this crossover. The capacity expands to 1,178 litres when the 2nd row of seating is lowering flat, and a maximum 2,403 litres of load volume is available when the third row of seats is also lowered.
Safety
The 2013 Volvo XC90 is equipped with six standard airbags and numerous active safety systems.
