Summary
We got a first glimpse of this model back in 2009 with the Converj concept car, and it’s about to appear on a road near you: the 2014 Cadillac ELR, the latest extended-range vehicle, with production slated to start at the end of 2013 for early 2014 North-American introduction. Global market launches will follow later.

Price

General Motors has yet to reveal the price range for the 2014 ELR, but certain specialized automotive industry websites estimate the MSRP to be in the $60,000 range, which is $20,000 more than the Chevrolet Volt on which it's based.

Fuel Economy
While precise figures have not yet been released, GM is hinting at a range of approximately 480 km with a fully-charged battery and topped-off fuel tank, which holds 35.2 litres.

Exterior Styling
This compact two-door Cadillac coupe is quite similar to the Converj concept car which was introduced at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. It sports 20-inch wheels and used galvanized steel for the fenders and door panels and aluminum for the hood panel. The sleek headlights climb far up on the hood, similar to the Cadillac ATS headlights.

Cargo Capacity
The trunk of the new ELR will hold up to 255 litres, which is less than the Volt's 300 litres.

Drivetrain
The ELR is equipped with standard DOHC 1.4 litre 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors which bring the total horsepower to 207 hp, compared to the Volt’s 150 hp.
