The all-new 2016 Lexus ES made a smashing debut at the 2015 Auto Shanghai, featuring an exciting, sportier attitude highlighted by elegant yet progressive exterior styling, improved luxurious interior construction, and the new innovative available safety system, Lexus Safety System +.
Exterior highlights include the trademark spindle grille framed in brilliant satin chrome, LED headlamps, L-shaped daytime running lamps, redesigned fog lamps that were relocated to the outer lower corners of the front fascia, as well as 17” wheels with a 20-spoke design on standard models and 10-spoke design on hybrid models.
The luxurious and modern cabin of the 2016 Lexus ES offers new interior colour combinations and three seat materials: leather, premium leather, and NuLuxe. In addition, four styles of interior trim were carefully selected to harmonize with the colour choice; Shimamoku is a high-end finish of luxurious wood that first appeared in the GS and LS sedans. Drivers will also enjoy a new sport steering wheel and 4.2” TFT colour multi-information display.
Under the hood, the 2016 Lexus ES will continue with its exceptionally smooth 3.5L V6 engine, a 2.5L 4-cylinder version, and a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. Pricing will be announced at a later date.
In related news, Lexus unveiled the new RX 200t crossover in Shanghai, equipped with a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces more than 228 horsepower. An F-SPORT package will be available for performance enthusiasts.
