Pros: The sleek, aerodynamic design of this latest BMW is stunning. A low centre of gravity and 50/50 weight distribution contribute to superior handling, while some great powertrain combinations deliver the excitement you want.

Cons: Some might find the front-end look a bit over the top, while others will lament rear-seat access (but that's why BMW came back with the new four-door 4 Series Gran Coupe).

2015 BMW 4 Series Coupe Price: The base 428i starts at $44,900 in RWD configuration; AWD boosts the price to $49,000. Meanwhile, the more powerful and more luxurious 435i is advertized at $54,900 and $55,600, respectively.

2015 BMW 4 Series Coupe Fuel Consumption: The vehicle’s light construction materials and start-stop system help provide generous fuel savings. The most efficient model is the 428i, achieving an estimated 6.5L/100km on the highway and 10.0L/100km in the city for 2015. These figures will climb to 8.3L and 11.9L/100km, respectively, when buyers choose the 435i xDrive.

Improvements and Changes: Only subtle changes to standard and optional equipment.

Powertrain: The 428i model is equipped with a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine producing 241 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the 435i houses a 3.0L 6-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower and with 300 lb-ft of torque.

All engines use BMW's TwinPower Turbo technology. The 6-speed manual gearbox can be replaced with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Likewise, buyers can opt for rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive (xDrive).

Cargo capacity: The 4 Series Coupe offers 445 litres of trunk space.

Safety: The 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe boasts several advanced technologies including head-up display, Driving Assistant Plus, active cruise control, a lane departure warning system, and a rear-view camera.

Comparing the 2015 BMW 4 Series Coupe: Other 2-door luxury compacts include the Audi A5, Cadillac ATS Coupe, Infiniti Q60, Lexus RC, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe.
