New 2018 Chevrolet Traverse to Sell for…

First revealed at the North American International Auto Show early in 2017, the new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will be available at Canadian dealerships starting this fall. The automaker has just announced its base price for the full-size crossover: $36,695, including transportation fees and A/C tax.

The big brother of the Equinox (itself also redesigned for 2018) is packed with technologies that will enhance the comfort of passengers and help them stay connected, no matter their age or lifestyle. Notable features include three-zone automatic climate control, noise and humidity cancellation systems, OnStar with 4G LTE Wi-Fi (for up to seven devices), Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (as well as the myChevrolet remote control app), and cameras that provide a view all the way around the vehicle (including one that replaces the rearview mirror).

The manufacturer also promises that the 2018 Chevrolet Traverse will offer best-in-class maximum cargo capacity (2,781 litres, plus 91 additional litres under the floor of the trunk), as well as the most generous legroom in the third row of seats. The cabin harbours 23 different storage compartments, some of them specifically designed for smartphones, and a centre console of dimensions more typical of a truck's.

Chevrolet is adding two new versions to the model for 2018: the sporty-looking RS and the luxury-minded High Country. The latter features a power-folding third row of seats, hands-free power liftgate, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, unique brown leather seat trim, 20-inch alloy wheels and a wireless charging system. The available Redline edition includes red trim elements and a special blacked-out Chevrolet logo.

Consumers will be able to choose from two different available engines, including a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo and a newly upgraded 3.6L V6. Consumption ratings for the two powertrains are yet to be announced.

“The all-new Chevrolet Traverse is the total package, offering full functionality and a bold new look our SUV customers demand,” said Nicolas Longpre, brand manager, Chevrolet Crossovers in Canada. “With creature comforts, convenience features and technologies to entertain passengers the new Traverse is designed to help make life on the road easier, and look good while doing it.”
