New generation arriving this year

The all-new tenth-generation 2018 Honda Accord is scheduled to arrive on the market later this year. This sales champion among midsize sedans is set to make its mark anew with a host of improvements designed to attract consumers who are looking for a family car but remain hesitant to jump on the SUV bandwagon.

Though the first image released, included here, reveals very little, we do know the new Honda Accord adopts a lower, wider stance, part of a conscious attempt by Honda’s designers to give it a more aggressive and athletic look.

Three powerful yet fuel-efficient engine set-ups will be offered with the 2018 Honda Accord, starting with a pair of 4-cylinder turbo engines with direct injection. The 1.5L version will come with a 6-speed manual or a CVT, while the 2.0L version will offer a choice between the same manual gearbox and a 10-speed automatic.

As well, a next-generation hybrid system, even more sophisticated than the one featured in the 2017 model, will power the 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid.

"With these three advanced new powertrains, the tenth-generation Accord will be the most fun-to-drive, refined and fuel-efficient Accord yet," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of America Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Just as the new Honda Civic injected new energy into the compact car segment, we expect this all-new 2018 Accord will make people rethink the midsize sedan."

More details about the 2018 Honda Accord, touching on power output, torque, equipment and options and more, will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
