By a country mile, the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières is the most convivial event of its kind in Canada

The 2019 edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières was, once again, a raging success, both at the gate and on the track. Fans were treated to suspenseful races, particularly in the Micra Cup and NASCAR Pinty’s series.

This year marked a significant milestone for the event, as it was the 50th edition to take place. And some local favourites displayed a real flair for marking the occasion in style, as you’ll see here in our look at the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, both on the track and behind the scenes.

Micra Cup

For the past five years, the Micra Cup featuring the small Nissan Micra cars has served to get the assembled crowd warmed up with two races over the weekend. Once again this year, the races featured their share of excitement.

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series race was also a nervy, exciting affair as eventual winter Louis-Philippe Dumoulin took advantage of a spinout in front of him to pass race leader – and winner of the last two editions of the arce – Alex Tagliani. For Dumoulin, a native of Trois-Rivières, you couldn’t have dreamed up a better scenario.
