Several weeks ago we reported on the announced changes for the U.S. edition of the 2019 Nissan Rogue. We now have details and Canadian pricing for the crossover that is the automaker’s top-selling model in both markets.
The Rogue actually got a thorough refresh for 2018, so the 2019 edition remains visually unchanged. But Nissan has expanded the availability of the Safety Shield 360 suite of active safety systems, which include lane departure warning, intelligent lane intervention, intelligent emergency braking with pedestrian detection and high beam assist. These are now included on all trims, as is the company’s rear door alert back-seat passenger monitor.
The SL trim of the 2019 Rogue gets rear emergency braking and sonar as standard equipment. Both the SL and SV versions now also get Nissan’s ProPilot Assist semi-autonomous driving system included standard.
The powertrain
The 2019 Rogue comes with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine generating 170 hp and 175 lb-ft or torque; this is the same as in the 2018 edition, and it will power all trims of the model. The engine is matched with an advanced Xtronic transmission with standard Sport Mode and Eco switches. The Rogue is available with an intuitive all-wheel drive system or front-wheel drive.
The pricing
The base model for the SUV this year is up by $650 in comparison with last year. Canadian pricing for the 2019 Nissan Rogue, before transport and preparation fees, is as follows:
