Reitnitz, Austria – Each year since 1981, the small village of Reitnitz in Austria transforms itself into a mecca for the legions of VW lovers the world over, in particular those with a weakness for the Golf GTI. We were on hand for this unique event, and the heavy rains that fell on us for most of it did nothing to dent the appeal of the fantastic cars we were able to see up close.

Here was the only car at the event that didn’t move. Erected in 1987, this second-generation VW Golf has been welcoming believers in the GTI cause for over 30 years.
