2021 Sports Car (4-cylinder engine) of the Year: Honda Civic Type R
Another new category, another headache due to the incredible number of interesting candidates. Again, any of our finalists could have been chosen as the winner, in addition to other models like the Volkswagen Golf R, for example. But in the end, it was the Honda Civic Type R nipping the Mazda MX-5 and the Hyundai Veloster at the finish line. It's the Type R's extreme and tame nature that makes it so... unique. In fact, it's hard to resist.

And then there are all the other sports cars, this time with engines of 5 cylinders or more. Ironically, it is a model that also offers a 4-cylinder engine that won, but this time with its variants equipped with a 6-cylinder 4.0L engine, namely the GTS and Spyder. This model made life difficult for all the others in the category, including the two finalists, the BMW M2 and the Toyota Supra.
And the new generation Chevrolet Corvette? This car would certainly have made it into the top three and might even have won. However, none of the team members had the opportunity to drive it; it is very difficult to vote for a model that you have not yet driven. If we get behind the wheel this summer, it could be a different fight next year.
