In recent years, Toyota's luxury marque has not been an active player on the plug-in hybrid scene. Not that Lexus is a stranger to electrification. On the contrary, Lexus' hybrid offerings have been around as long as Toyota's, since 2000 in fact.
On the way to it becoming a purely electric brand, Lexus wants to offer something that appeals to the well-heeled counterpart to the PHEV clientele that has made the Toyota RAV4 Prime a raging success. And so there’s the recently introduced NX 450h+, a vehicle that is a not-too-distant - and more luxurious - cousin of the RAV4 Prime.
