Chevrolet Canada has announced pricing and equipment details for the thoroughly redesigned 2027 Silverado 1500. Featuring fresh styling, enhanced technology and two brand-new sixth-generation Small Block V8 engines, the full-size pickup enters the new model year with higher price tags, which is no surprise. The company does stress that the bump offset is by significant upgrades in standard equipment across the entire lineup.
The cheapest Silverado 1500 for 2027 is the WT (Work Truck), costed at $52,999 CAD (MSRP). At the other end, we have the brand’s off-road flagship ZR2, which rubs its head hard on the 100-grand ceiling with its MSRP of $98,699 CAD.
Small-scale production is scheduled to begin in mid-October before ramping up to full capacity early next year, with the first units expected to arrive at Canadian dealerships by late autumn.
2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 – What’s new?
In addition to the styling updates, Chevrolet has streamlined the Silverado lineup for 2027, officially dropping the RST, LT and LTZ designations. In their place, the Z71 moniker transitions from an optional package into a standalone trim, which Chevy by the way expects to become the top seller in Canada.
Also notable for 2027 is the interior overhaul. Even entry-level Work Truck (WT) and Custom models now share the upgraded cabin layout, featuring an 11.6-inch driver information display and a massive 16.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, which represents quite a change from the outgoing basic screens. Standard safety features across the board now include Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with braking, and forward collision mitigation.
Powertrains of the 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
The base TurboMax 4-cylinder engine returns with a new turbocharger and re-engineered internal components, pushing output to 350 hp and 455 lb-ft of torque, whilst dropping its previous 8-speed transmission in favour of a standard 10-speed automatic.
The 3.0L Duramax inline-6 turbodiesel also returns, retaining its 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque while benefiting from emissions and fuel-system refinements.
More newsworthy is the debut of two naturally aspirated V8 engines. The 5.7L L76 (402 hp, 428 lb-ft) and the 6.6L L78 (481 hp, 501 lb-ft), take the place of the outgoing 5.3L and 6.2L V8s. Both utilize a dual-injection system (combining direct and port injection) and a continuously variable displacement oil pump.
With the 5.7L V8, the Silverado 1500’s maximum available towing capacity climbs to a class-leading 13,700 lb, or 2,400 more than in the 2026 truck. V8 models also receive a larger 129-litre fuel tank, catering directly to buyers who tow frequently.

At the top of the range, the high-luxury High Country gains standard 22-inch wheels, continuously variable damping, Super Cruise, and a passenger-side 11.5-inch display. The off-road specialist ZR2 gains 35-inch all-terrain tires, massaging front seats and an underbody camera system. For all that, it remains roughly $12,000 less expensive than a comparable Ford F-150 Raptor despite crossing the $100,000 mark once freight and fees are factored in.
