Following its complete redesign for the 2026 model year, the third-generation Mazda CX-5 carries over into 2027 with minor updates and no changes to the pricing structure in Canada. Price of entry for the base GX model thus remains at $36,300 CAD, before fees and such.
In the doing, Mazda confirmed the CX-5 continues on with a three-trim lineup.
2027 Mazda CX-5 – What’s new?
Virtually nothing to report on this front. Mazda introduces a Rear Seat Alert safety feature as standard equipment alongside available Google built-in functionality featuring the Gemini AI assistant.

All 2027 CX-5 models run via a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine delivering 187 hp and 186 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs exclusively with a 6-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ all-wheel drive. We can still see no electrified powertrain on the horizon, sadly.

- 2027 CX-5 GX - Features 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats and a 12.9-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.
- 2027 CX-5 GS - Upgrades to 19-inch wheels, power liftgate, heated steering wheel, driver's seat memory, head-up display, wireless smartphone integration and wireless device charging.
- 2027 CX-5 GT – Thoughts turn here to luxury with black leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, adaptive LED lighting and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.
The GT trim can be further customized with two optional packages: the self-explanatory Panoramic Roof package ($2,000), or the flagship Premium package ($4,500), which adds a 15.6-inch infotainment display, hands-free power liftgate, paddle shifters, 360-degree camera and advanced driver assistance systems.
