The new top-end model in the Sentra lineup gets an MSRP of $32,998 CAD.

After getting a major revision for 2026, the 2027 Nissan Sentra comes in with relatively few changes on the menu. That said, there’s still stuff worth talking about.

2027 Nissan Sentra – What’s new?

Notably, Nissan is introducing a new top-end trim to the lineup, the Sentra SR Premium Midnight Edition, which starts to be a bit of mouthful. There are other improvements, including responsive CVT tuning and an available new Qi2 wireless device charger.

The Midnight Edition
This addition to the lineup was announced for the United States in August. It's now been made official for Canada as well. The Midnight Edition actually replaces the 2026 SR Premium, and builds on that trim with the addition of black exterior badges, black window opening trim, new 18-inch black alloy wheels and a Super Black two-tone roof.  It also introduces an available Qi2 wireless device charger. Result: faster, more consistent charging and compatibility with more devices.

2027 Nissan Sentra - Powertrain and performance

The 2.0L 4-cylinder engine itself is unchanged for the new year, the Sentra continuing to offer up 149 hp and 146 lb-ft of torque, in a front-wheel drive configuration.

For 2027, Nissan endeavoured to enhance the performance of the Sentra’s Xtronic Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) through new tuning, promising a smoother and more linear acceleration profile, with crisper response to accelerator inputs. Nissan says we can expect a more predictable driving experience.

Fuel economy
EPA-estimated fuel consumption ratings for the 2027 Sentra are 7.9L/100 km city, 6.1L/100 km highway and 7.1L/100Km combined.

That’s for the S and SV trims, Nissan specifies. The SR grades deliver 8.0L/100 km city, 6.4L/100 km highway and 7.2L/100Km combined.
