Amazon Prime/Shomi subscription
Price: Starting at $8.99/month
The year 2015 was pretty eventful if only for the demise of Top Gear. After 22 seasons, one of BBC’s most popular shows of all time abruptly came to an end. We were quite bummed, but our sadness turned to joy when Amazon signed Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May with the specific purpose of launching a similar show online. The yet-unnamed series will be available on Amazon Video sometime in 2016.
Unfortunately, Amazon Video requires a subscription to Amazon Prime in the U.S. ($99 USD). On the other hand, subscribing to Shomi ($8.99/month) may be enough for us Canadians following a deal with Rogers last winter. It all depends on whether our future favourite car show winds up among the select titles available.
