According to SpeedTV.com, Champ Car World Series' executive vice president and race director, Tony Cotman, who gave some leadership in race control and stability off the track, has resigned last Friday without any real explanation.
Cotman only commentary was that: "It's time to move on. I made a decision and I'm happy with it. I left on good terms because racing is a small community and I'm sure our paths will cross again."
Cotman earned the respect of the drivers, mechanics and owners during the four years he was with the Champ Car organisation.
He was the one who introduced successful standing starts and made common sense decisions regarding rules, track conditions and personnel.
The former team manager/strategist for Team KOOL Green and Andretti Green Racing says he wants to stay in motorsports.
