A few pictures from Le Mans

The refuelling stops at night are very spectacular. The Audi number 1 car entered the pit lane around midnight to refuel but there were no driver switch.

I will have to learn how to take decent pictures without the flash because using it is prohibited in the paddocks at night.


Jacques also stopped late on Saturday night to refuel his number 7 car.

Up to this point, everything was going smoothly for our beloved Canadian. Car number 7 was second in the overall standings.



Judging by the sign on the wall, this driver from Team DOME Judd S101 is going in the right direction!



Team Saleen S7R (Ortelli, Ayari and Lapierre) is switching drivers for their number 55 car.

At the end of the race, they held the 16th place in the overall standings and the 9th place in the GT1 class.


Surely, I must have had a thing for this Saleen S7R, because I witnessed three of its refuelling stops during the 24-hour event.

I got to admit that Soheil Ayari and Nicolas Lapierre are very friendly drivers who don't mind sharing their thoughts with journalists.




The Lola Audi B07-10 number 5 from Team Swiss Spirit was magnificent. Too bad it had to give up at the 62nd lap because of mechanical failures.




The series of turns leading up to the Dunlop bridge are quite spectacular.

I spent several minutes there before a huge rainstorm caught me by surprise. There were no shelters inside a 500-metre radius. When I finally reached the press box, I was soaking wet.


Teams found more than one way to rest their technicians and engineers during the night.

Here, at the Red Bull paddock, crew members were trying to stretch their legs.


At 1:48 p.m. on Sunday, after more than 22 hours of racing, the number 7 car of Villeneuve, Minassian and Gené came home and never went out again.

A loss of oil pressure did away the V12 HDI.
