An automated access ramp

MobilityWorks makes life easier for people suffering from a handicap that limits their movements. The company modified a Toyota Sienna by installing an access ramp for wheelchairs. The vehicle's features are as follow:

  • Automated sliding door that can be operated with the standard remote control or with one of the several interior control switches;
  • Actuator that lowers the rear suspension while the door opens, which reduces the slope of the automated ramp;
  • Lightweight ramp in both Infloor and Foldout versions; offers unparalleled ease of access for wheelchair and scooter users. In the event of power failure, both the door and ramp can be operated manually;
  • Up to 10" lower than conventional minivans, the floor is lowered from the firewall to the rear axle; offers a choice of three securing positions;
  • Both the driver and the front passenger seats can be removed for the handicapped people who wish to ride up front or drive.
Automotive seating
Thanks to Bruno Lift-Up Power Mobility, it's also possible to get lift-operated chairs. The handicapped person can swivel and tilt the seat in the Sienna in order to sit directly and effortlessly. The chair is then stowed back in its initial position like a normal seat. The company uses the vehicle's original seats.
