The class-leading Lexus RX 350 has been updated and refreshed for 2008, but each and every change made to the successful SUV was carefully discussed with customers in order to make sure that the biggest fans of the RX would be pleased with the package.
Stuart Payne, Director of Lexus Canada, says "RX owners love their vehicles, and the changes to the 2008 model were made with that in mind."
The new model features a few discreet updates in the visual department, including a new grille and chromed door handles for a contemporary look. Lexus didn't so much try to overhaul the RX's styling as to simply expand on its already distinct looks.
Four trim levels are available. The base, or "Leather" model starts at $51,550 and includes a long list of standard features like a 10-way adjustable drivers seat, wood trim, immobilizer, MP3 CD player and seven airbags.
A luxury package adds a moonroof with visor, while customers opting for the Premium package, priced at $56,550, get options like adaptive HID lighting, a powered rear door and illuminated entry.
Top-line or "Ultra Premium" models add rear seat DVD capability, a backup camera and phenomenal Mark Levinson stereo system with 11 speakers.
17 or 18 inch wheels are available, and all models are powered by a 270 horsepower V6 engine which boasts smooth operation and a claimed city fuel consumption rating of about 12L / 100KM. The engine powers all four wheels through a five-speed super electronic transmission and intelligent 4WD system for sure-footed travels in any sort of weather.
The 2008 RX is in showrooms now.
