The drivetrain consists of Acura's first turbocharged engine which features variable flow control for a broad powerband, exceptional torque and little to no lag. Coupled with Acura's modestly labeled Super Handling All Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), Executive VP of Honda Canada, Jim Miller, says "RDX highlights Acura's passion for developing vehicles with advanced technology that deliver optimum performance, safety and fuel economy." The RDX has an estimated highway fuel economy of 9.8 litres per 100 kilometres.

Power comes from a 2.3 litre four cylinder engine to which i-VTEC valve control and Variable Timing Control (VTC) are fitted alongside the turbocharger. With a 5-speed automatic transmission working in sync with the electronic drive-by-wire throttle control, gearshifts are dealt with quickly. The gearbox functions as a regular automatic, although drivers can take control of steering-wheel mounted paddles to call their own shifts. Pricing starts at $41,000 and includes an impressive selection of standard features, including a 360 watt stereo system and 6-disc changer.

A sole option package is offered. Called the Technology Package, it adds a range of advanced features to the mix in order to heighten the drivers experience with the machine. One highlight of the package is a premium 410 watt stereo with IPod input and MP3 compatibility. Bluetooth wireless connectivity for hands-free cellular phone use is also included with the technology package, which raises the RDX Turbo's price to a respectable $45,000.
