Klaus Graf’s teammate Lucas Luhr retook the lead of the Mosport ALMS race just before the half-way point to then allow his Lola-Aston Martin LMP1 team to cruise to victory.

Graf and Luhr finished 28.420 seconds ahead of Chris Dyson and Guy Smith, who had taken the lead from the first pitstop to the 1h20 point.

Luhr had missed his stop when a full-course caution unexpectedly refrain him from going in the pits as planned. The sister Lola-Mazda car of Humaid Al Masaood and Steven Kane finished third in class.

Olivier Gavin and Jan Magnussen (Corvette C6.R) finally gave Corvette Racing its first ALMS victory of the season in the GT class by finishing 4.4 seconds ahead of the Ferrari 428 Italia of Jaime Melo and Toni Vilander after a long felt battle in traffic.

In the other two classes, Spencer Pumpelly and Duncan Ende took the GTC win while leaving the LMPC’s to Ricardo Gonzalez and Gunnar Jeannette ahead of teammates Jon Bennett and Frankie Montecalvo.

The next round of this 2011 championship will take place at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car course on August 6.
