Entry Luxury: The convenience of its cupholders apparently helped the BMW 3 Series win here, but its front end styling and smooth engine performance also helped. Other favorites here were Saab 9-5 and Chrysler 300M.
Premium Luxury: Excellent space and comfort for the rear passengers helped the BMW 7 Series win here, along with good visibility for the driver and easy sound system controls. Lexus LS 400 and BMW 5 Series also did well here.
Compact Pickup: Cupholder convenience was the key ingredient in making the Dodge Dakota the winner here, along with its storage space and the convenience of its controls. Toyota Tacoma and GMC Sonoma were runners-up in this segment.
Full-size Pickup: Its rear passenger space and comfort put Chevrolet Silverado on top here, though its fuel economy, driving range and engine performance also helped. Second and third spots went to GMC Sierra and Ford F-250 Super Duty.
Mini SUV: Space and comfort for the rear seat passengers were the key ingredients for helping the Honda CR-V win here, followed by convenient cupholders and useful cargo space. Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester were also in the top-three.
