Full-size SUV: Smooth, quiet engine performance made Toyota Land Cruiser a winner in this category, along with its ride quietness and handling stability. GMC Yukon (including the Denali version) and Ford Expedition rounded out the top three.
Luxury SUV: Smooth engine performance got the Lexus LX 470 the top spot here, along with solid ride and handling and its quietness during highway driving. Lexus RX 300 and Land Rover Range Rover also did well with consumers in this categroy.
Compact Van: The versatility of its 2nd and 3rd row seats put the Honda Odyssey on top in this categroy, but it also helped that it had useful cargo space and a smooth, powerful engine. Toyota Sienna and Pontiac Montana were also popular.
Full-size: Perhaps not surprisingly in this category, storage space made the GMC Savana the top vehicle here, but buyers also mentioned the comfort of the 3rd row seats and the effectiveness of rear air conditioning. The second and third spots went to the Chevrolet Express and Ford Econoline.
