By winning Sunday's final ARCA race, the Hantz Group 200 at the Toledo Speedway in Ohio, Justin Allgaier (Chevy No 16) also won the ARCA/REMAX 2008 championship.
Allgier had started 9th. Scott Speed (Camry No 2) was well placed to win this championship but a feud with Ricky Stenhouse (Ford No 99) turned ugly and he was penalised. He ended up 34th , Stenhouse, 25th in the race while Speed was third in the championship and Stenhouse fifth.
Allgaier will drive for Roger Penske in the Nationwide races in Texas and Homestead.
