Round two of the Formula Atlantic Championship takes place this coming weekend at the beautiful Laguna Seca circuit in California during the Monterrey Festival of Speed.
The first race of the season was run on the streets of Long Beach and the victory went to newcomer Simona di Silvestro from Switzerland, who became the second woman only to earn a victory in the Atlantic series.
Alan Scioto was second, finishing in front of Canadian Kevin Lacroix from Walker Racing who completed the podium.
Laguna Seca is a very technical circuit and it is still one of the favourite among drivers, either in Atlantic or any other motorsports series. Almost every teams and drivers came to Laguna Seca during the off-season to conduct tests and Canadian racer Kevin Lacroix was always among the leaders.
"Although we were always among the top three during the tests, I remember that we always had problems getting up to speed with new set of tires. With the experience we've had in Long Beach, I think we'll be able to make progress," concluded Lacroix.
