The adaptive shock absorbers, engine, and tiptronic automatic transmission can be tuned to 'sport', 'dynamic', or 'efficiency' driving modes. The efficiency mode is designed to lower fuel consumption, even utilizing the navigation system to prepare for road changes. While cornering or on uneven surfaces, the Cross Cabriolet's body is held stiff by a rigid underbody. Weight is saved by the extensive use of aluminum, as well as the use of a fabric roof over a folding metal one. Cargo capacity is also up to golf club lengths.

Up front, a gaping grille is flanked by swivelling headlights. All exterior lighting is by LED. Inside, though rear passengers lack their own doors, they are still cradled in seats that blow warm air on the necks of their passengers. The seats also have a subtle intercom system for clear communication even with the top down.

Audiophiles will like the Cross Cabriolet's highly tuned 505 watt Bang & Olufsen audio system with automatic volume and frequency alterations. This audio system is controlled by Audi's multi-media interface, which also operates the 3D navigation system powered by Google Earth. The application of in-car internet connectivity also allows for internet radio, among infinite other possibilities.
