It won't be very green this year at the Audi stand. Sure, the Q7 TDI will be there as well as the compact Q5, but the big news is the Canadian intro of two high-performance models.
Based on the new-generation A4, the 2010 S4 drops the 340-hp V8 for a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 that develops 333 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Gearbox choices will include a 6-speed manual and a new 7-speed dual-clutch S tronic automatic.
Like the outgoing model, the S4 keeps its all-wheel drive hardware but adds an optional sport rear differential which, according to Audi, improves the car's agility. The new car should use less fuel than the old one.
For those who feel a 420-hp R8 isn't quick enough, Audi has added the S6 and S8 sedans' 5.2-litre V10 in the supercar's engine bay. With 525 horsepower and 391 lb-ft of torque, the R8 V10 is good for 0-100 km/h blasts in 3.9 seconds and reaches 316 km/h. As with the 'base' R8, 6-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch gearboxes are available.
The new rockets will be on sale this fall.
