Audi is set to present the A1 clubsport quattro at the 30th edition of the Wörthersee Tour, a major meeting for Audi, Seat, Skoda and VW fans which takes place from June 1 to 4, 2011. This one-off model is a track-eating beast designed to rival the top performance cars in the world.

Under the hood is a TT RS-sourced, 5-cylinder gasoline engine displacing 2.5 litres with turbocharging and direct injection. Mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and Audi's renowned all-wheel drive system, it puts 503 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque to the ground.

This combination allows the 1,390-kg (3,064 lbs) A1 clubsport quattro to shred pavement as it sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds, and 80 to 120 km/h in 2.4 seconds. Top speed is limited at 250 km/h.

Making it all possible are clever modifications to the turbocharger, intercooler and exhaust system. Other performance upgrades include an adjustable suspension, 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires, plus an Audi A4 DTM-style tailpipe located on the left flank.

The body of the A1 clubsport quattro has a Glacier White matte paint finish, a roof arch in high-gloss black that supports a roof panel made of carbon fibre-reinforced polymer (CFRP), a single-frame radiator grille with a black honeycomb design, two large air outlets on the hood, a double rear wing for increased downforce and R8-inspired mirrors.

Designed as a road vehicle for the track, the showcar has no rear seat. In its place is a large crossbar to further stiffen the body as well as storage for racing helmets. There are no speakers and infotainment system, either. Meanwhile, the lightweight bucket seats are taken from the Audi R8 GT and three additional instruments indicate the oil pressure, boost pressure and electrical system voltage.

Video game enthusiasts will have an opportunity to experience the Audi A1 clubsport quattro in Need for Speed World, where it will be available to all players as a free in-game rental car from June 1 to 4.
